Virtual university’s students “Junaid Waris and Farhan khan” are here. As there are no official handouts given by the virtual university, the university provides a reading section after every module. We’ve just copied that and pasted text as well as images. After completion of the midterm syllabus, it will be named “midterm notes of CS511 by VU.”.
Now this is the pdf file of the first four weeks only. Because still only four weeks are opened. These notes will be updated every week until midterm and shared in groups. Only this file will be updated and shared in groups. Before midterm exams, this will update completely. Try to find out where you got these notes the first time, and if you don’t find them, then you can contact us in our official group (the group link is given below). And again, final-term notes for CS511 will upload after mid-term exams.
We hope you will find it best because it’s difficult to read every module’s reading material from LMS, so we tried to save your time and headache as well. We also tried to mark short/long questions and quizzes abbreviated as (SQ, LQ, MCQ, respectively) as we could, but not totally. And sometimes if the quizzes and short questions are in the topic’s explanation, then boldness shows them. We compiled this for the welfare of virtual university students. All credits go to only Virtual University, who provide us the material.
Don’t print out this pdf file. This file has half blank pages or 3rd of 4th blank page (because of module ending). Only going through, just reading bold material, and remembering only SQ, LQ, and quizzes; these do not ensure the preparation for good marks, although they do ensure passing marks. Well, I wish you the best of luck for your future! Remember us in your prayers. Thank you so much!

Module 02:
A Complicated Ecosystem
As visualized in following figure, web development can also be understood as an ecosystem, one that builds on existing technologies (URL, DNS, and Internet), and contributes new protocols and standards (HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript) that facilitate client-server interactions. As this ecosystem matures, new client and server technologies, frameworks, and platforms continue to be developed in support of the web (PHP, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc.).
The model shows web-development as a three-story building. Each floor depicts several aspects of web development with an illustration. Ground floor shows Servers, Configuration, Networks, and Protocols which are the basic building blocks. Middle floor shows different languages which are a part of web development, like CSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, databases, APIs, and Tools. Top level shows advanced concepts like Design, Search, Integration, Frameworks, and Security.
A Short History of the Internet
Telephone Network
. Telephone networks provide the basic infrastructure.
