FACTOR ANALYTIC TRAIT THEORY – RAYMOND CATTELL
Cattell wanted to answer one main question: Why do people behave the way they do, and how can we scientifically predict their behavior? His answer: People behave differently because they have different traits These traits can be measured scientifically We can predict behavior if we know: the person’s traits the situation they are in This is why his theory is very scientific and data-based.
