This is the notice Virtual University of Pakistan shows on VULMS and its other sites during the maintenance, word for word.
We’re under scheduled maintenance
Virtual University of Pakistan is conducting scheduled maintenance to improve the performance, stability, and reliability of its online services.
During this period, all public-facing and internal portals, websites, and online services of the University will remain temporarily unavailable.
Maintenance starts: Friday, November 6, 2026, 11:30 PM
Maintenance ends: Monday, November 9, 2026, 11:59 PMThe University regrets any inconvenience this temporary service interruption may cause and appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of all students, faculty members, staff, and other stakeholders.
All services will be restored upon successful completion of the maintenance activities.
What is down during the maintenance
VU’s notice covers all of the University’s public-facing and internal portals, websites and online services, not only VULMS. Clearing your browser, switching networks or trying another device will not bring them back. This includes:
- VULMS (vulms.vu.edu.pk): lectures, handouts, assignments, quizzes, GDBs, MDBs and course announcements.
- The vu.edu.pk website: news, notices, admissions and fee information.
- The date sheet portal (datesheet.vu.edu.pk), where you book your exam centre and paper slots. How the date sheet works
- Every other student, faculty and staff portal VU runs online.
VUBuddy is not part of VU, so its study material keeps working. The VULMS features of the VUBuddy app and Chrome extension (lectures, quizzes and assignments) need VULMS, and come back with it.
Assignments, quizzes and GDBs due during the maintenance
- VULMS cannot take submissions while it is down, so nothing can be uploaded or attempted until it is back.
- VU’s notice does not say whether deadlines move. Once VULMS is back, read each course’s announcements: any new deadline for work that fell during the maintenance is posted there.
- Keep finished assignments and GDB answers saved on your device, so you can submit them as soon as VULMS returns.
- If a deadline passed during the maintenance and no new date is posted, message your instructor through VULMS once it is back.

You can keep preparing for your exams on VUBuddy, which stays online through VU’s maintenance.
How to tell when VULMS is back
- Follow the VUBuddy WhatsApp channel. We post as soon as VULMS is back online.
- Open vulms.vu.edu.pk after 11:59 PM on Monday 9 November. If you still see the maintenance notice, VU is finishing its work: try again a little later.
- If other students can sign in and you still see the notice, reload the page without its cache (Ctrl + Shift + R, or Cmd + Shift + R on a Mac), or clear your browser’s cached files.
