Last updated: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how VUBuddy Technologies (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use VULMS by VUBuddy (the “App”).
1. Information the App may process
The information processed by the App depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant. It may include:
- Your VULMS ID and password may be entered in the App to access supported VULMS features. These credentials are stored only on your device and are not stored on, uploaded to, or retained by VUBuddy Technologies’ servers. Your password is stored locally in encrypted form.
- Academic and app-related information displayed through the App, such as courses, announcements, schedules, results, or learning content.
- Device and technical information collected automatically by advertising or service providers, such as device identifiers, approximate location derived from an IP address, app interactions, diagnostics, and performance information.
We do not intentionally ask you to provide sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for a feature you choose to use.
2. How information is used
Information may be used to:
- Provide and maintain the App’s features.
- Display information requested by you.
- Use your VULMS credentials only to authenticate requests with the relevant VULMS service and provide the features you request. VUBuddy Technologies does not receive or retain a copy of your VULMS ID or password on its servers.
- Remember preferences and improve usability.
- Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve performance.
- Display and measure advertisements.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable policies.
3. Advertising and Google AdMob
The App uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google. Google and its partners may collect and use information such as your IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostic information, and general location information for advertising, analytics, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.
Depending on your location, device settings, and consent choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized. Where required, the App may show a consent or privacy-options message before requesting ads.
You can learn more about how Google handles information in its advertising products by visiting Google’s advertising privacy information and Google’s Privacy Policy .
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers, such as Google AdMob, that help operate, secure, analyze, or monetize the App.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid request from a public authority.
- When reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent fraud, enforce rights, or maintain the security of the App.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the App, subject to appropriate privacy protections.
5. Data storage, security, and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information processed through the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Information stored locally on your device may remain until you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.
VULMS login credentials saved through the App remain locally stored on your device. Passwords are stored in encrypted form using the security mechanisms implemented by the App. These credentials remain on the device until you sign out, remove the saved account, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App. VUBuddy Technologies does not store these credentials on its servers.
Third-party providers may retain information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. You may also be able to:
- Change App permissions through your device settings.
- Reset or limit use of your device’s advertising identifier.
- Review or change available advertising privacy choices in the App.
- Clear locally stored App data or uninstall the App.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for students and general educational use. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children in a way that violates applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review the matter.
8. Third-party services and links
The App may connect to or display content from third-party websites, services, or educational systems. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third parties.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after an update means the revised Policy applies to your use of the App.
